Spring Tour 2019 ... Kiln 2

Image
Sam Chung of University of Arizona presented a fine ceramics workshop in Anchorage last weekend. It's great to see others work with clay and to learn new techniques and tips from the masters! Thanks to the Anchorage Clay Arts Guild for offering the workshop. I promised to post photos of work from kiln 2 for the upcoming May 25 "A Great Day To Be In Willow" event.  The plan is to have kiln 3 images posted next week, so do check back to see the blog at least once more before the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.  The flyer about the multiple events on that day is here. Hopefully, there's something from kiln 2 that you like! Thanks for looking.  Pie plates/platters in various sizes and surfaces. In Alaska, the rustic look appears and appeals on many forms. Oval platters, feminine vase, sauce warmer, and bacon baker. Love what the glazes did on the interior of this bowl. Look for details...stamped, carved, and brushed. Salmon again, a coup...
