For those of you who don't see what I'm posting on WillowAK Pottery's Facebook page, here are some pieces I put colored slip on this afternoon while waiting for mugs to dry.
A silent auction donation for the Junior Iditarod.
Last weekend I donated a large platter to the Willow Winter Carnival raffle effort to help raise funds for the community center.  Later this month, the above platter will help raise funds for the Junior Iditarod Race. There's plenty of opportunity to help in a small community such as ours.

Had some fun with colored slips...and Alaskan subject matter this afternoon:
Fish 1, 2, 3
Sled dogs are loved in Willow!

Mountain scene.

Our first seed catalogs came this week! Yes, I'm thinking spring!
Some are wild about ravens!

Rocks, water, and trees...are pleasing to me.
We'll see how these pieces look after a bisque firing -- then again after a glaze firing. Check back to see if they're of interest.

It snowed most of the day today -- a perfect afternoon for working in the studio.  As soon as mugs and their handles seem happy together, I'm ready to do another bisque firing and then move forward with the glazing of 75+ mugs.

Have a design in mind for a unique yarn bowl and am anxious to create some of them.  If you don't see any images of yarn bowls posted here in the near future, maybe someone should remind me to make some.  Once a week I continue to knit with a nice group of Willow ladies and always enjoy catching up on a little local news when we get together.  It's also a chance to discuss Willow Garden Club plans, books being read, and what's going on in Downton Abbey!

There's a place for comment below; it would be fun to hear from you.  Thanks for taking the time to see what's happening in the WillowAK Pottery studio. Give me a call if you're in the area and would like to stop by the studio to see pieces with personality in the making.  (907-495-8272)
