Time to get back on track in the studio.  Did some throwing last week -- wine goblets, yarn bowls, and mugs -- but I'd call that warm-up activity for what is to come.

The knee seems to be doing well, although it sure stiffens up when I sit too long. Am still icing because it feels good to do so, and PT is on the schedule for the next several weeks. Right now it's feeling a lot like the other knee that had the same surgery a few years ago, although I'm expecting the end result to be better on this one.  Time will tell.

Lots of fun during the week with family since it was Spring Break. Enjoyed one family early in the week and the other over the weekend.  Had a multi-lake tour on snow machine today, spotting the eagle's nest I knew was nearby but had never seen. Great weather for skiing and snowmobiling -- sunny, clear, and bright. Big temp swings, however -- 40 to 50 degrees on some days according to our thermometers.  Spring Break is over and the kids are now headed into the final quarter of the school year, which has gone quickly!

The big mug order is being picked up next weekend, I'm meeting with a couple people this week who have expressed an interest in carrying WillowAK Pottery, and expect to do a lot of studio work in the next few weeks. Spring is a great time to be productive. Holiday season is long past and it's not yet time for me to consider any work outdoors.  The truth is I don't do much of that at any time, since Keith is the devoted grounds guy -- keeping things groomed and cared for in all seasons.

Instead of pottery photos, how about some activity shots in the driveway and then skiing behind the snowmobile out on the lake:

Trimmed pots tonight and look forward to many studio hours in the coming weeks. Next photos will be of pottery! Have the new kiln shelf in place and need to make enough work to fill the kiln.  Will know more by the end of the week about what kind of pieces I should be creating. Have about 300 lbs of porcelain left and it's time to use it before it dries out too much.  It's great for small items, but already difficult to work with for larger pieces, and the upper body is out of shape for throwing! The hands, especially, need to toughen up for this next cycle of work.
