New Work at WillowAK Pottery

The temp is in the twenties tonight -- and it's time to talk pottery once again.   I have been making work since last posting and am now gearing up for the Dec. 3 Willow Holiday Studio Art Tour.  Mark you calendar now, to save the date!   We studio artists are committed to making it worth your while to visit the participating studios -- for a good time and great gift selections.

A look at some new work:

Silk screening adds interesting images from Mother Nature.

You'll see screened images on many different forms -- plants, animals, and birds.

Yarn bowls are back in town!

Berry bowls have returned, too.
Some yarn bowls are headed to your local yarn shops

Others await visitors to the studio.

It's not too early to select for holiday giving!

The mug rack is full -- with variety in shapes, sizes, and glazes.

Glazing yet to be done on large trays.

Trays of various shapes and sizes.

Glazing yet to be done on mugs, bowls, and ornaments.
Yes, goblets, pie plates, and  more ornaments.
And some really creative pieces for fun!
Most are stamped, some are signed, and all are unique!
Thank you for your patience if you are among those awaiting goblets, pie plates, personalized pieces, and specific ornaments.  The buckets of glaze are ready and waiting for application.

For those wondering, Melinda and Bill Dale will have their beautiful fiber and wood items here again, and Joan Edwards will be here with her wonderful quilted creations.  These folks ae truly artisans who make fine pieces of high quality.  Yes, clogs are being knit and felted as well, so a selection of sizes and colors will be available on December 3.

It's exciting that many of you have been asking about the next Studio Tour.  On the same day, Willow Methodist Church will be holding its Bazaar,  I am told, so you can fill your day shopping in Willow!  We hope that fits in with your gift-giving plans for the holidays.  Light refreshments will be served in the studios, so do stop by if only to socialize and see what we've been making!

Willow Creek Studio (mile 69.5) and Bonnie's Borealis Glassworks (mile 64.5) are the two other studio stops.  More details about the Dec. 3 Studio Tour will be published later.  Did you mark your calendar yet???
