Samples...new work for Willow Art Studio Tour on Dec. 2

Such a wide variety of art is being created, and it is time to start showing you some of it! Four studios, representing more than sixty artists, are busy getting ready  This blog posting focuses on giving an early peek at what will be available at WillowAK Pottery - - and you probably know that there is much more than pottery here, for sure!

Well, I did get behind the wheel, the studio wheel that is, and today unloaded a kiln of new work. Here is a sampling of the pieces, all food safe, usable in both microwave and regular ovens, and one-of-a-kind, handmade.

That's a quick look at some of the new pottery pieces.  Coming later will be photos of knit hats, headbands, baby gifts, and felted clogs that have been on the needles. Admittedly, the call of fireside knitting has been pretty enticing on rainy evenings late summer, and now that the frost is here, that call may be even stronger.  It's a lot less messy than throwing pots, for sure!  Love doing both!

You'll also be seeing  photos of the beautiful fiber art work Melinda Dale and Joan Edwards are preparing for the event, along with Bill Dale's wonderful work with wood.  These fiber and wood pieces mail easily and make very special gifts.  Fine workmanship and materials are appreciated!

Come back to the blog soon, come see us on Dec. 2, and do get in touch if you have questions or requests. Visiting four studios in Willow makes for a fun day!

The United Methodist Church has its bazaar on the same day. There you'll find homemade soups and bread for lunch, delicious cookies to purchase, and a craft sale.  All the more reason to dedicate Dec. 2 to shopping in Willow!
