Mid-June Update

Mid-June, and we're still living the "stay-at-home" lifestyle for the most part. We are able to do so and it seems the right thing for us to do. Zoom helps, but it will sure be nice to see family in person!

Summer is definitely here. Loons have returned to the lake and have eggs in their nest; the many trees Keith planted all survived the winter, and the lawn's coming in nicely; the dogs seem healthy and energetic;  I've experimented with sourdough baking, knit a lot, and made and fired a kiln load of pottery; the raft is launched and being used, and we're enjoying a stretch of beautiful weather with looooong sunny days and stunning sunsets.  Even more importantly, family and friends seem to be healthy for the most part. That's the news close to home.

No, not all is wonderful. High on my list of "deplorables" are pandemic, racism, politics, crime, pain of all types, and recently, mosquitoes.

I remain grateful to those who are doing something constructive to address the problems of the world and appreciate those whose efforts could result in lessening the bad and increasing the good. Thank you if you are one of those! Yes, we all should strive to be one of those, in whatever way we can.

In random order, photos of early summer 2020:

Learning about sourdough.

Mobile annuals.

First mow with this new mower deck. Back to the older one.

Loons often watching.

Afternoon cruise.

Yes, Canoe and Camai go along.

Finally, resting not working.

New pieces yet to be glazed.

Yes, there is glazing to be done.

Summer view from my wheel.

For the fans of floating blue with nutmeg.

Plenty of pieces on the racks.

Seeking new homes.
Moose and willow.

Herbs on the deck.

Sunsets from the bedroom, far more beautiful than the photo shows.

I look forward to a vaccine. Until then, may we all do our best to prevent the spread of anything that has the potential of great damage to others and to ourselves.
I also look forward to less uncertainty and unrest, as well as to more compassion, wisdom, and peace.
Enjoy the remainder of the summer!
