Yes, WillowAK Pottery,  along with other Willow art studios,  will be open to all on  Saturday, December 1 1.    Stay tuned for details.     ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, Recollections of Thanksgivings Past: Thanksgiving 2020 we dined in what we call the "cove" of our home, enjoying the company of Cedar, our golden we knew we'd be saying goodbye to soon, and Birch, the new golden puppy who had just joined us. Although we love our dogs, it did not seem very festive or "quite right" to be without family for my favorite dinner of the year! Dr. Fauci said not to gather and we thought that may be a good plan since no one really knew much about Covid-19 at that point...the who, what, where, why, how, and when.  So, we stayed home...just two oldsters, accompanied by a wonderful adult dog and a precious puppy, being thankful, uncertain, and concerned! Thanks for coming!

Thanks to all who visited WillowAK Pottery on July 24. We enjoyed seeing people we'd not seen for a long time, meeting people we'd never met , and visiting with all who stopped by  during the Willow Garden Tour 2021. It was a fun and interesting day.  The studio will stay clean and orderly for a couple of weeks, and then I will begin creating new work once again. Meanwhile, Keith will continue to water, feed, mow and trim grass, as well as tend the trees, flowers and herbs on the property. Birch will keep a watchful eye on all activity, wagging her tail with approval in hope of attention. May those of you who bought pieces created of clay or yarn have many years of use and enjoyment from them. Those wanting to see a meadow of well-cared-for grass and trees, it is here for the looking. Thank you for coming . . . and do come again. If you did not visit us this time, maybe next time. ~Carol  willowakpottery@gmail.com

It's Tradition...Open Studio on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend...May 29

It was nice to reconnect with those who stopped in during an open studio day a few weeks ago. All were repeat visitors who know my work and were interested in having more WillowAK Pottery pieces in their homes and/or for gifts. At the end of the day, I decided it would be good to also have May 29 as an "Open Studio" day, so that's going to happen: •  If you've been to the studio before, please come again. •  If you've not been to the studio, please do come to see what it is all about. •  On Saturday, May 29, come by between 10:00 and 5:00. •  On other days, please text 907-360-3696 to arrange a visit. • Location: 25879 W Southlake Dr., on Shirley Lake This is a working pottery studio where "pieces with personality" are created from clay.   There is nothing here that you NEED, but there are many things that you may like to have for yourself or for others.  Browse the blog postings for a sampling of studio work.
