March...in like a lion, out like a lamb? Really? Promise?

What crazy weather this winter. Thank goodness Keith and his John Deere have a good working relationship; they are spending lots of time together! Days are noticeably longer now, thank goodness, and those with sunshine are spectacular. Yet there is so very much snow to melt this year!

View from studio window
where I sit at the wheel. Snow!

Ice sculptures on porch rail stayed
frozen for months.  Cold!

Keith and Birch out for their
twice-a-day walk.

Grandniece Taylor here for Iditarod
while trading AL for AK for awhile.

Inside beauty is especially
appreciated in the winter.

If you've seen Iditarod mugs I made recently, commemorative plates, and ornaments,
all are now in the hands of the Iditarod Gift Shop.

Speaking of Iditarod and weather, we had the perfect restart weather for sending off the 49 mushers and their teams. Excited. Eager. Energized. Hopefully it will be a fine race for all. We drove snow machines to Willow Lake to watch teams arrive and get organized prior to race time, then joined hundreds of other viewers on Long Lake to cheer on the first 25 teams. Helicopters overhead, drones, planes on skis, snowmobiles, skiers, campfires, grills, and lots of revelry were all part of the scene. A beautiful send-off to 49 adventuresome souls and their loved, well-cared for teams. Happy Iditarod 2022!

If you've recently seen porcelain yarn bowls, buttons, and moose I've made, it may be because you've visited their new home in Talkeetna at The Patchwork Moose.  A charming quilt shop...and more...in new, spacious quarters.

I doubt there will be either lions or lambs around Willow this March, but guarantee there will be moose, signs of breakup, and talk of dahlias. We are looking forward to sharing a fun summer with family and friends. Hope you are, too!

Every summer, it happens here for
grandparents and grandsons!  Fun!!

 Meanwhile . . .

Let there be peace on earth!
Please!!
