Coffee or tea anyone?  Mugs, mugs, and more mugs, each unique!  Time for a new one to welcome you in the morning for that first cup of brew? Lots of choices at the moment, so drop me a note if something strikes your fancy and you'd like more info.  I read someplace that "a mug you love for coffee or tea is a lot cheaper than drugs or therapy."  Hope the person who wrote that had a very special mug! The following sell for $25 each, plus shipping. I'll post images of the other items tomorrow, and also get details on the WillowAK Pottery Facebook page for those who are following updates there.  Think you'll see about 35 new non-mug items, including plates, bowls, pitchers, tumblers, and vases.  If you're going to be in Willow for the Iditarod restart on Sunday, March 3, be sure to stop at the Willow Creek Studio on the Parks Hwy; they will be open and have lots of bea...

The snow continues to fall in Willow; it's beautiful to look at, but time consuming for the man here who runs the tractor, snow blower, and multiple shovels. Retirement seems good! Lots of mugs in the recent kiln, since I'm still working on a request for many mugs.  One more glaze firing and I'll have that request filled.  I'm including in this blog some images I posted on WillowAK Pottery's Facebook page to show samples from the recent firing. Donation for Jr. Iditarod  The large platter I...

For those of you who don't see what I'm posting on WillowAK Pottery's Facebook page, here are some pieces I put colored slip on this afternoon while waiting for mugs to dry. A silent auction donation for the Junior Iditarod.  Last weekend I donated a large platter to the Willow Winter Carnival raffle effort to help raise funds for the community center.  Later this month, the above platter will help raise funds for the Junior Iditarod Race. There's plenty of opportunity to help in a small community such as ours. Had some fun with colored slips...and Alaskan subject matter this afternoon: Fish 1, 2, 3 Sled dogs are loved in Willow! Mountain scene. Our first seed catalogs came this week! Yes, I'm thinking spring! Some are wild about ravens! Rocks, water, and trees...are pleasing to me. We'll see how these pieces look after a bisque firing -- then again after a glaze firing. Check back to see if they're of inter...
