November 19, 2013

Well, we did have two enjoyable days of meeting and greeting -- thanks to the 60+ people who came by for the WillowAK Pottery Open Studio.  It was as much a social event as a sales event, and wonderful to see and visit with the friends, neighbors, and other pottery enthusiasts who came by for a look. It also resulted in clearing shelf space for me to fill with new work in the coming months, and I'm excited about doing that. A BIG THANKS to those who came by.  Hope you all found something to take home, be it from the "freebie" table, the 50% off rack, the regular shelving, or the knit hat display.  Roger Hudson won the door prize, so a $25 gift certificate is being mailed to him.

Goblets -- testing photo with a real camera
Tumbler -- again with a real camera, rather than iPhone

Grandson Ben was a fine helper on Sunday; I'll try to recruit his brother and cousin to join us next year. Yes, we had a good time and look forward to doing it again in November 2014, but feel free to make arrangements to stop by the studio alone, or with neighbors or guests, between now and then. The pottery wheel will begin spinning again in December and I have lots of new ideas for creating pieces with personality.  They will all need homes!

It's -22 here this morning and the temp is headed down, but we're cozy, content, and grateful.
