So, what did you do with the moose, Carol?

Well, some flowers blossomed near his hooves and he was clearly glazed with a clear glaze.
Here he is...with a couple of new friends.
Didn't get much in the way of suggestions from the blog readers, so went with clear and will try the grey, sage, or blue transparent glaze over another moose in the future.

This is the final kiln of work for the Holiday Tour in Willow on Saturday, Nov. 14.  If you've not seen a flyer with details, stop at Willow Creek Studio at mile 69.5 of the Parks Hwy  on Saturday and they'll fill you in.  We sent flyers to past participants and published/posted them at Willow's E-Breeze, Post Office, Library, etc.  Those who know where the three studios are located may start at any one of them, but be sure to visit all three to be part of the door prize drawing.  Yes,  it is a $100 gift certificate to spend at Willow Creek Studio!!
Bowls to hold yarn -- for those who knit and crochet.
When you look at them from a different angle,
they appear to smile.  Happy yarn bowls!

The blues won out, Steve. A mottled blue,
not washed out blue as it appears here!

Large platters will be available in a variety of shapes, glazes, and sizes.

Tuxedo 'n lace.

Swirls and boughs.

Frenzy of fish.

Sage and shore break.
Some serving bowls, small bowls, miscellaneous items and a mug made the firing, too:

A large shallow bowl with cones and pine swags.

Cardinal on watch ... NFS

This is a special cardinal and may be headed to a special home.  He is not for sale.  There will be more pieces with birds, animals, and plants on porcelain in the future.

A touch of non-blue color.
The colors of Christmas pop out here.   With the holidays just around the corner, it's fun to incorporate serving pieces and kitchen accessories that coordinate with home decorations.

Dr. Suess wrote One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, but I don't recall him saying anything about white fish.  Did he?  I've glazed lots of fish in blues and browns, but these received a quick dunk in Dove Gray. Next time they'll either stay in the gray longer or get a second dunk. That will probably happen to these if they are in still around the studio next time I glaze. It's a matter of "taste" perhaps.
Learning... always learning...what not to do along with what to do.

Where did these fish swim in from?

The lone mug has Dove Gray glaze opposite the handle.
Where gray overlaps black, navy appears.

Yes, awarded "most colorful" in the kiln. A very small bowl.

The "calm and classy" award,  perhaps?
And then there are a few more creations to demonstrate "pieces with personality" unloaded from the most recent kiln.  They are looking for new homes.  Come visit, engage, and adopt them!

That's it. If I do post again prior to the Nov. 14 Tour, it's likely to be knit and felted items that will be available.
The blues return...a variety of them!
Trays for treats and a squirrelly nut bowl.

 Come see us!
