Almost ready!

Tomorrow, Melinda will be setting up the beautiful quilted and wooden pieces that she and Bill, respectively, have been busy making; I can hardly wait to see what they are bringing to display and sell on Saturday. All I know for sure is that the craftsmanship will be outstanding and I'll want to do some shopping myself.

I promised to post photos of knitted and felted work that will be available, so here's a look:

A variety of knit Christmas stockings for decoration and special gifts from Santa.  These are small and medium socks for small and medium treasures:
Little slender sock
Medium sock

Little chubby sock
One table of felted clogs
And then there is the clog collection.  These are knit of 100% wool -- mostly Icelandic Lopi, some Bartlett yarn from Maine,  Ecological Wool from Peru, Lamb's Pride (with a bit of mohair) from U.S., and Dale of Norway yarn.  Love it all! Some of the clogs are classically simple, others jazzed up with felted embellishments, eyelash yarn for accent, and fun color combinations.  All have double soles making for a very cushioned feel. If the right size is not here for you, leave a tracing of your foot and I'll try to come up with a clog that does feel just right.  They do form to your feet after some wearing, so a right and left clog will magically distinguish themselves after awhile. You are seeing 11 pair here, 3 of which are already spoken for.   To extend the wearing life of these double-soled clogs, I recommend inserting an insole, especially if you own the rough heels some Alaskans are known to have.

And a second table of clogs
Along with the clogs you'll see some knit bottle wraps for the holidays, a Willow Hood 'n Cowl that will keep someone warm no matter what Mr. Winter brings our way (try it on to see what I mean), and a few other accessories for the head.  Oh -- the felted bowls, too.   They start out huge when knit and are repeatedly felted to become a very compact wool fabric. Fun bowls made of yarn as opposed to the yarn bowls made of porcelain that I posted earlier.

And, these are some of the other pieces mentioned above
Once Melinda and Bill have their work here and on display, the studio's back room will offer lots of choices.  Hopefully you'll find something perfect for giving -- or receiving!  If not, there's the fall back to purchasing a gift certificate in whatever amount you would like. Maybe you know someone who would enjoy coming to select a gift in the studio when it's quiet, calm and convenient.

See you Saturday. Forecast is for cold and clear weather;
 that's just fine for the Willow Holiday Studio Art Tour!
One event
Three studios
Many artists
Even more fine gifts
And a fun day!
